Make Claude

More than a chatbot.

YouCoded is an add-on of sorts for Claude Code, a powerful agentic AI tool from Anthropic that can create and edit any type of file, search the web, run terminal commands, and navigate your screen. While Claude Code was designed for coding, YouCoded turns it into something else entirely — a fully capable and customizable agentic AI assistant that doesn't require you to know how to use AI or understand what "agentic" means. With YouCoded, you can teach Claude to navigate emails from any provider, read and summarize your texts, rebuild your spreadsheets, help you study, and more. You get the most intriguing and intuitive form of AI available today, all without needing to become a fratty tech-bro to do it.

YouCoded combines that powerful AI with a themeable chat UI, a community marketplace WeCoded to share and download "skills" (instructions that give your Claude new abilities), multiplayer mini-games, custom integrations with external services, and remote access from any browser.

Nothing happens without your permission. YouCoded will always ask before taking any action.

Everything the app gives you.

Theme Builder

Build a theme just by describing it.

Tell Claude the vibe you want and it builds full UI themes with custom wallpapers, colors, particle effects, icons, and mascot characters. Imagine "Liquid Glass", but built by a single guy in his bedroom who still outdid Apple's entire visual design team. Share your themes directly with friends or publish them to the WeCoded Marketplace for anyone to download.

WeCoded Marketplace

Browse, share, and download everything that makes the app yours.

Themes, skills, and integrations — all in one place. Install what you want, then share what you build. The marketplace is the core of how YouCoded stays fun, social, and personal instead of feeling like another boring AI tool.

Coming soon: custom buddies that provide floating access to Claude across apps, custom status bar instruments, and native app modules (imagine your texts, emails, or calendar showing up in a themed panel right alongside the chat window). The WeCoded marketplace improves every day, and improves more quickly as more users join the ecosystem.

Journaling & Personal History WeCoded

Talk about your day. The structure happens on its own.

Just start talking — about work, people, whatever's on your mind. Claude asks follow-up questions, pulls out tasks and calendar events without you having to ask, indexes information about your friends and family, and slowly builds a searchable history of your life. Want to remember a friend's birthday, your wife's favorite color, or what you had for lunch last Thursday? Just ask Claude. Have a big meeting tomorrow with colleagues you haven't seen lately? Have Claude prepare a briefing, entirely based on information you've previously provided. No templates, no forms — you talk, it organizes. All information is stored in your personal Google Drive, iCloud, or GitHub account. Must be downloaded from the marketplace.

let's journal. today was a lot — had that meeting with Sarah about the nonprofit rebrand, then spent the afternoon prepping my talk for Friday.
Got it. How did the meeting with Sarah go? Any decisions made on the direction?
yeah, we're going with the warm palette. she wants a first draft by March 28th. oh, and remind me — I need to email Jake the slide deck before my talk.
All captured. The slide deck task is set for Friday morning so you'll see it before your talk.

Cross-Device Backup & Sync

Start anywhere. Pick up everywhere.

Your skills, conversations, themes, and settings are automatically backed up to your preferred provider — Google Drive, iCloud, or GitHub — every 15 minutes, then downsynced to your other Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android devices. Switch machines mid-thought without losing a beat. Doubles as a full restore-from-backup when you set up a new device. Not something Claude Code does natively.

Multiplayer Games

Play with friends while Claude works.

Claude Code can take time on big tasks. Instead of staring at a spinner and twiddling your thumbs, challenge your friends to a game of Connect 4 right inside the app while you wait. The goal is to take the boring tasks we all use AI for (studying, working, etc.) and make them slightly more fun by allowing us to do them with friends. Real-time multiplayer, in-game chat, powered by Cloudflare. More games coming, soon to be opened to community-built games in the marketplace.

Integrations WeCoded

Connect your services.

With skills from the WeCoded marketplace, YouCoded can link with all of the following services:

More coming soon...

NOTE: Some integrations require account authorization or additional setup. You can link these services at any time from within the app.

Other features

Everything else you get.

YouCoded runs the full terminal-based Claude Code binary natively on Android — something no other app (including Anthropic's own official mobile app) does. You get all of Claude Code's real agentic abilities on your phone, without the jank and limitations of the official mobile experience. A real Linux shell, bash, Node.js, Python, and git all run on-device, installed automatically on first launch. Every skill, theme, hook, and integration you set up on your desktop works on your phone too.
YouCoded offers two flavors of remote: mirror the exact UI you'd see on desktop or mobile into any browser for live input/output, or jack the Android app's native UI directly into your desktop's backend so the phone becomes a thin client with a full local-feeling experience. Claude Code has remote access from Anthropic, but it's mega janky — ours is significantly better-than-native. Includes built-in anti-sleep features to keep your computer awake and ready when you're remoting in.
Automatic up-sync and down-sync across every device you use, plus full restore-from-backup when you set up a new machine. Conversation history, skills you've built (not just marketplace installs), themes, and settings all travel with you. Pick your backend: Google Drive, iCloud, or GitHub. Native Claude Code does none of this.
A full theming engine tied into every part of the UI — wallpapers, glassmorphism surfaces, particle effects, custom icon sets, and buddies, little mascot characters that tag along with a theme. Build your own from a vibe prompt using /theme-builder, share them with friends directly, or publish to the WeCoded marketplace. Dark, light, halftone, and pastel families included out of the box. Unlike most apps, every mockup, header, bubble, button, and border respects the active theme.
A first-party marketplace for everything that makes the app yours: skills (reusable instructions that teach Claude new abilities), themes, games, and integrations. 150+ items and growing, with a curated hero slot, rotating rails (Destin's picks, New this week, Popular), and full publishing tooling so anyone can ship their own. Entries submitted upstream stay upstream; community-built entries live alongside without conflict.
Skills are small, shareable packages — a short instructions file plus any helper code — that permanently teach Claude new behaviors. Install from the marketplace or create your own through conversation using /skill-creator. Paired with 18+ external integrations: Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Gmail, Messages, iMessage, iCloud, Apple Notes, Reminders, Calendar, Mail, Todoist, GitHub, Chrome, Safari, and Canva. Your data stays in your own accounts — YouCoded just orchestrates.
Real-time multiplayer games built right into the app so long-running agent work doesn't feel like thumb-twiddling. Connect 4 ships today with in-game chat, invite links, and cross-platform play (desktop vs. phone vs. browser). Powered by Cloudflare Durable Objects / PartyKit for near-zero latency. More games coming, and the marketplace will soon accept community-built games alongside skills and themes.
YouCoded always asks before Claude takes any action — file edits, shell commands, network calls, anything. Three permission modes built in: Normal (ask for every non-trivial action), Bypass (trust everything, for experienced users), and Plan (read-only exploration). Per-action allowlists, destructive-command guardrails, and a clear visual status dot at all times. Runs entirely locally by default — no data leaves your machine except the prompt text you explicitly send to Claude.
Small things that add up to a much nicer day-to-day than the raw terminal:
  • Automatic session naming, so your history is actually searchable
  • Multi-window Chrome-like browsing and navigation between conversations
  • Custom searchable menu for resuming past conversations
  • Status lights and custom sounds when Claude is waiting on you or finishes a response
  • Additional custom hotkeys for session navigation and common actions
  • Both full-terminal (themed) and clean chat views, switchable on the fly
  • Session flagging: Complete hides sessions, Priority sorts to the top, Helpful is informational — more custom flags coming
  • Custom quick chips above the input bar for prompts or skills you use regularly (journal every day? add a quick chip)
  • Themeable status bar widgets with context %, theme switcher, git branch, model selection, permissions mode — and more coming
  • Readable tool cards instead of the terminal's wall of inscrutable text
No separate API key, no per-token billing, no hidden costs. YouCoded signs in with your existing Claude Pro or Max plan and uses your subscription for everything the app does. If you already pay Anthropic for Claude, you pay nothing more to use YouCoded. Pro handles most light-to-medium workloads; Max gives you Opus-tier reasoning and the larger context window for big projects.

How we got here.

Honestly, I really just wanted a cooler and more efficient way to journal and track my own tasks/goals. The very first thing I built with Claude is the Journaling and Life History system (now available in the marketplace), and I pretty quickly decided that I wanted to share it with my friends. However, the thought of installing and opening "Claude Code" in the terminal scared away most people almost immediately. I realized that the idea of advanced agentic AI is still rather new to most people, and that persuading them to adopt my fancy new journaling system would require it to be much more accessible and user-friendly. Towards this end, I kind of just… kept adding things. And now we're here.

Every line of YouCoded was written through conversation with Claude by me, someone who has never written code. Every feature, every platform port, every theme, every multiplayer game. The entire app was built, and is currently maintained, without a single line typed by hand.

FAQ

Claude.ai is a chat website. YouCoded is an app built on top of Claude Code — a more powerful form of Claude that can create files, run terminal commands, manage your computer, and interact more meaningfully with a wider range of external services. Think of claude.ai as texting Claude, and YouCoded as giving Claude hands (with themes, a marketplace, games, and remote access layered on top).
Everything YouCoded and your installed WeCoded skills create — journal entries, your Encyclopedia, tasks — is stored in your own Google Drive or iCloud account. While data is temporarily sent to Claude/Anthropic to make the actual AI work, the long-term storage of your data is fully managed by you. YouCoded only collects skills, themes, and other marketplace entries — and only if you choose to share them.
The $20 goes to Anthropic for a Claude Pro subscription, which gives you access to Claude Code — the AI that powers everything. YouCoded itself is free and open source. You're paying for the AI, not the app.
Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android are all fully supported with native apps. You can also access YouCoded remotely from any web browser. Apple ecosystem integrations (iMessage, Apple Notes, etc.) are only available on macOS.
Not at all. YouCoded was built entirely by a non-developer using Claude Code itself. The app is designed for everyone — students, professionals, and anyone else who uses AI regularly. If you can use ChatGPT, you can use YouCoded.
YouCoded always asks for permission before taking actions, so it's hard to break things accidentally. Claude is also, in my personal experience, much less prone to errors and hallucinations than models like ChatGPT and Gemini. However, AI is still prone to mistakes. Claude's permission settings should prevent those mistakes from being translated into action, but you should always monitor your AI assistant when in use to verify it's acting as intended. You should be especially cautious when taking advantage of "Bypass Permissions" mode, which allows Claude to act without your input.
So far, it's just me (Destin). However, my intention is for this open-source project to become something we all build together. I believe one of the greatest potential goods of AI comes from its ability to revolutionize the world of open-source software. This project is just one example of what AI can allow us to create: an app owned by nobody, improved by everybody — all without anyone needing to learn how to code or even understand what "open-source" is. No profit motive, no ulterior incentives — just people making cool shit and sharing it with other people :)
